Choosing a new (or newer) vehicle series, Part 1

When it's time to find a new ride, there are a lot of questions you need to answer. In this blog series, we will help guide you through the questions you should ask yourself as well as provide useful tips and tricks along the way. In our first installment of the series, we discuss the benefits of buying a brand new vehicle (instead of used).

Taking advantage of financing and incentive offers
The manufacturers of the brands sold through the SVG Motors auto group (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Toyota and Mercedes Sprinter) offer shoppers special financing incentives, like money off the MSRP or low interest rates during a promotional period. During certain times of the year, it's not uncommon to be able to find new vehicles with prices that rival used vehicles.

Credit challenges
Customers who are credit-challenged may find that it is easier for them to secure a loan on a brand-new vehicle. This is because when banks see you as a risk due to bruised credit, they must make the assumption that they may have to repossess the vehicle at some point. If you've gotten a loan on a new vehicle instead of used, the bank will feel more secure that a new vehicle will retain its value better than a used vehicle (thereby minimizing their risk in lending to someone with a poor borrowing history).

Getting the EXACT vehicle you want
With the vast inventory available through the network of SVG Motors locations, it's pretty likely that you'll be able to find the exact vehicle you want with the right features in the right color. If by some chance we don't have your dream vehicle, when you're buying new, you can always order a brand new vehicle and customize it exactly how you want it.

Peace of mind
It's not a surprise that pre-owned vehicles need maintenance and/or repairs. New vehicles need maintenance as well, but most manufacturers provide free maintenance for your brand new vehicle for a limited time which can save you money right away. Of course if something does go wrong and an issue creeps up with the drivetrain, manufacturers will honor a warranty so that you don't have to pay for a wide range of repairs.

While the process of shopping for a new (or newer) vehicle are similar, choosing to buy a brand new vehicle offers you unique opportunities that buying pre-owned do not. When you want complete warranty coverage (without the additional cost of paying for an extended warranty), the ability to get the exact features you want, and the potential to save thousands with rebates and incentives, choosing to buy brand new might be the best fit for you.
